Terms
Last updated 4 November 2026. This applies to the private beta.
PhotoEstate is run by Greg Profitt. By using it you agree to these terms. Please also read our privacy page and refund policy.
A private beta
The service is in testing and open by invitation only. It may change, be unavailable at times, or end. We may remove access, for example if these terms aren't followed.
Your photos
- Upload only photos you own or have the owner's permission to edit. With every order you confirm: “I own these photos or have the owner's permission to edit them, and I understand the edits are applied automatically.” We keep a record of that confirmation.
- Don't upload anything unlawful, or photos taken from other people's listings or websites without permission.
- You keep all rights to your photos and edits. You allow us to store, process and show them to you only to make your edits, until they are deleted.
What the editor can and can't do
Edits are made automatically, without a person reviewing them, and can be wrong. Please check every photo before using it.
- The editor adds notes to photos it had trouble with, for example a large crop or a strong color cast. Check those before using them.
- Straightening can crop 10–15% of the frame.
- Outdoor photos get a lighter color correction than rooms, so sunlight and shade keep their natural look. Now and then the editor treats a room as outdoors; if a room's color looks off, rate it and try Redo.
- The editor doesn't remove objects or replace skies. It brings back views through bright windows only when you upload bracketed shots (the same view at several exposures), which it merges into one photo. Where a window is white in every shot, it stays white and the photo is flagged. A bright sky behind trees can show a soft glow along the edge.
- RAW files from most Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Panasonic, Olympus, Pentax and DJI cameras work. Nikon “high efficiency” RAW files can't be read, and many RAW files from high-resolution cameras are over the 50 MB upload limit.
- The editor was tuned on a small set of mostly small listing photos, so results on other photos may vary.
You are responsible for how you use the edits, including making sure listings show the property fairly.
Paying for edits
During the private beta everything is free. When paid plans start, this is how they work (prices are on the pricing page):
- One credit = one edited photo, used the first time you download it.
- Uploading, editing, previews and before/after comparisons are free.
- Downloading a photo again, in any size, is free.
- Photos that couldn't be edited never use a credit.
- Credit packs don't need a subscription.
- Until a photo is paid for, you see a smaller preview with a “PhotoEstate preview” watermark.
- Credits from packs never expire. Credits from a monthly plan are for that month and don't carry over.
- Monthly plans renew each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep the plan until the end of the month you paid for.
- Credits have no cash value and are for your own account only.
- We may change prices. A change never affects credits you have already bought, and we'll tell you before a monthly plan's price changes.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle takes your payment; we never see or store your card details. Refunds are explained in our refund policy.
Keep your own copies
Photos are deleted 30 days after you start an order unless you keep them longer. This isn't a backup service: download anything you want to keep.
Fair use
During the beta you can start up to 10 orders a day, with up to 60 photos each (50 MB per file), and ask for up to 20 redos an hour. Don't try to get around these limits or to access anyone else's orders.
No guarantees
The beta is provided as it is, without guarantees of results or availability. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses from using it, including lost or deleted files.
Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change, and we'll tell you about important changes by email. These terms are governed by the law of the State of Georgia, USA. Questions: [email protected].
